Who are your teachers?

Sharon Gannon & David Life.

What is the first thing you notice when you walk into a studio to teach?

Room temperature & Quality of the sound system.

Where, or what, do you consider your center?

The center of my mat aka my magic carpet is my center. My center is also Jivamukti Yoga NYC, the school where I started practicing in the summer of 2000 and where I have been teaching for the last 12 years. And… My home studio in Beirut, Yoga Souk (yogasouk.com)

What is most important to youwhen you teach?

To get out of my own way.

If you could change one thing about yoga in the West, what would it be?

Yoga evolves with its practitioners. It takes on the shape of their aspirations. I don’t know what yoga truly looks like in the East so I would not change anything about yoga in the West.

What is the quality you most respect in a student? In a teacher?

Consistency – for both.

What is your motto?

To be fully human, courageously and unapologetically – as in to feel myself through life rather than to think myself through life.
